Hump Mountain Farm (N.C. & Tenn) owned by Oscar Julian. The Appalachian Trail crosses this land, so before his death, Oscar sold 2,200 acres of this property to the National Forest Service so it would be forever preserved. The Julian family still owns 500 acres of the farm located on the Tenn. side. Oscar was the Bookkeeper for the Black Star Coal Company.
